JK Bank launches first ever online facility for e-payments of taxes

JAMMU, JAN12: In yet another stride to provide world class banking facilities to its clients at their doorsteps, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank today launched facility for e-payments of Direct Taxes online at its Punjbakhtar Branch, Residency Road Jammu. With this added facility, the clients now need not to come to banks and can have the convenience of discharging their tax obligations online by using bank's financial website http:/www.jkbankonline.com.
The online tax payment facility was launched by the Executive Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Mr. Ashok Mehta.
General Manager, Mr. Kuldeep Sharma, a large number of bank clients, businessmen and traders were present on the occasion.
The online tax payment facility is in addition to e-service already offered by the J&K Bank's e-banking service that include shopping mall and bill payment facilities.
Mr. Mehta also inaugurated 2nd ATM at the J&K Bank, branch Panjbakhtar, Residency Road Jammu. The first ATM was inaugurated only a fortnight ago by the Governor, Mr.N.N.Vohra. With this, the total number of ATMs in the state have gone up to 235.

Speaking on the occasion, the Executive Director reiterated Management's resolve to provide banking facilities of international standard to its clients at their doorsteps. In this endeavour, he said, after strenuous efforts, the RBI, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and National Securities and Deposits Ltd (NSDL) have relaxed regulatory restriction which has enabled the bank to launch the facility for e-payments of taxes online to its clients. He said that need for this kind of facility was direly being felt by the tax payers and business community of the state.
He said within a fortnight, another 41ATMs would be opened in different locations of the State, out of which 11 ATMs would be in Jammu zone and 30 in Kashmir zone. At present, 72 ATMs are already functional in Jammu and with the opening of 11 more ATMs in next fortnight, the number would be increased to 85.
Mehta appealed the people to strengthen the J&K Bank to make it at par with the other global banks.
