| Panchayati Raj celebrated at MV International School | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 26: In order to celebrate National Panchayati Raj Diwas, MV International School organised a guest lecture to raise awareness among the students. Sh. Sidharth Dhiman, JKAS Assistant Commissioner Development Samba was the guest speaker. Students of class 8th were briefed about the importance of Panchayat Raj on this occasion. He stated that National Panchayati Raj Day (National Local Self-Government Day) is the national day of Panchayati Raj System in India, which is celebrated by Ministry of Panchayati Raj on 24th April every year. Main objective was to interact with the students and tell them about democratic participation, how to better articulate local needs and priorities and how to ensure an efficient use of local resources along with greater accountability and transparency. Further he apprised the students about various segments of government system; their functions and responsibilities. During the question answer session he listened to the student's queries and judiciously answered them. He praised the students for listening carefully and asking appropriate questions.
Director, Gourav Abrol also enlightened students with his words of wisdom, he thanked the guest speaker and Chairman Sh. Hira Lal Abrol for sparing their time to motivate the students. He thanked the guest speaker forvaluable inputs, that he had shared with the students and approached the staff and students for their inquisitiveness. |
