DLSA Samba organises awareness program

SAMBA, Apr 26: District Legal Services Authority, Samba today organized an awareness program on “The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015” at Government Girls High School Tarore, Tehsil- Bari Brahamana.
The awareness event was organised as per the Action plan for the month of April, 2023 issued by Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority and also under the radiant guidance of Sonia Gupta, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Samba.
Namisha Rajput, Chairman, Child Welfare Committee, Samba was the resource person who shared her knowledge on the core issues of the subject i.e. The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Samba also addressed the gathering. In the middle of the program, a documentary film on basic aspects of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act 2015 namely Hastshep (Kishore Nyaya: Dek Rech Avm Suraksha) was also shown to the student participants through the projector which was highly appreciated by the school management.
The objectives of organizing this awareness camp was to focus on the core topics of Rights and Protection of Children, Categories of Children (Child in Conflict with Law, Child in need of Care and Protection and Child in contact with Law), the role of Juvenile Justice Board, Child Welfare Committee. During the course of the program students interacted with the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Samba.
At the end of the program Surinder Kumar, Principal, Government Girls High School, Tarore conveyed vote of thanks to the District Legal Services Authority Samba for arranging this awareness program in their school. The program was attended by students, faculty members of the Government Girls High School Tarore and Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Samba.
