Drug peddlers arrested, heroin recovered

SAMBA, Apr 27: Under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police has arrested three (3) heroin suppliers and recovered heroin ('chitta') worth rupees 50 thousand approximately from their possession.
The arrested heroin suppliers have been identified as Rahul Kumar s/o Raj Kumar r/o Ramnagar Udhampur, Ankush Thakur s/o Karnail Singh r/o Arnas Reasi and Vicky Kumar s/o Amarnath r/o Shastri Nagar Jammu. A case FIR No. 103/2023 u/s 8/21/22/25/29 has been registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation is underway.
These heroin ('chitta') suppliers used to collect consignment from Bari Brahmana and supply the same to individual addicts in Ramnagar, Udhampur, Katra, Reasi and Jammu on huge margins. Vehicle used for heroin smuggling has also been seized by police. Their personal search was conducted in the presence of Executive Magistrate 1st class and Gazetted Police Officer following proper procedure of NDPS Act.
The arrests have been made by police team comprising of SHO Bari Brahmana Sunil Sharma, District NDPS Team Incharge Inspr Sumit Sharma and PSI Rakesh Singh under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that total thirty three (33) notorious suppliers of heroin have been arrested in three months and several others have been booked under relevant sections of law in different FIRs and raids are being conducted to nab them.
