Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 12- In its two days stormy session of party delegates in which almost all the contested candidates participated, the Panthers Party adopted a unanimous resolution demanding a high powered judicial probe into the rigging of EVMs during the election to benefit identified political groups, thus leaving a black spot on the conduct of polls by the Election Commission of India and declaring that the people of J&K have not voted any political group to power nor ensured mandate to any political group to rule the state which is obvious from the record of the elections. Two political parties namely Congress and NC who literally ruled the state for half a century have no mandate to rule the state with their conflicting and divergent agendas, the resolution said. The resolution commended Prof. Bhim Singh for resigning his seat from the Legislative Council against the anti- people alliance of the two parties, which were responsible for the rise of corruption, communalism and terrorism in the state. The resolution demanded the dissolution of the Assembly and fresh elections so that people get opportunity to choose their representatives in a free and fair election.
In another resolution the delegate session reiterated its commitment of reorganization of the state so as to introduce three Legislative Assemblies in Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu through amendment in Article 370 of Indian Constitution. Resolution emphasized for a Federal State Assembly comprising of three regional Assemblies with civil secretariat functioning round the year at both the places.
In the meantime the delegate session demanded delimitation of constituencies and fresh elections thereafter as mandated by the Constitution.
In another resolution the session condemned Israeli aggression on Palestine and urged the Prime Minister for effective intervention to end the aggression. It said that Palestine should be allowed to function as Sovereign State as created by U.N Resolution No181 of 1947. The Panthers Party session demanded immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
In an important resolution the session unanimously decided to provide effective secular opposition inside and outside the legislature, which is the need of the hour.
Five hundred delegates including all the contesting candidates participated in the two day session. All the three elected MLAs Harsh Dev Singh, Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpaul Kundal also participated. The two days session was presided over by Prof. Bhim Singh Chairman of the Party.
