Stolen goods recovered, being restored to owners

Jammu, Jan12: Cases of theft are often reported to the Police stations and are better forgotten but the Jammu Police have sought to do it differently. The stolen material, over the months, has not only been retrieved from the thieves but is also handed over to their owners and occupants. And the property is whopping worth Rs 23 lakhs. Isn’t it different?
As the Jammu Police put recovered items on display and handed them over to their bonafide owners, it clearly appeared that year of 2008 was a reign of terror of the Police against the criminals. 85 Kilograms of expensive narcotics, drugs, hawala money, fake currency, thirteen vehicles were among the recoveries as SSP Jammu Manohar Singh and other officers put them on display here today.
Singh also announced suitable reward to the police officers who by the dint of hard work kept prestige of the police. Showing the achievements of the police in district Jammu SSP Jammu said that Sainik Colony police with in 48 hours held three murderers identified as Ravinder Kumar,Raj Kumar and Happy who after murdering one Rajinder Kumar fled from the spot few days ago. He said that one narcotic smuggler identified as Mohammad Maqbool Raina was arrested by Narwal police and recovered eight and half kg charas from his possession.
On another case he said that similarly Trikuta Nagar police held two drug smugglers namely Raj Kumar and Bunty Kumar from Panama Chowk area and recovered twenty five kg poppy straw from their possession. Nawabad police also held one drug peddler identified as Jagroop Singh and recovered forty five kg poppy straw from his possession. Police station Miran Sahib recovered Rs 32,000 fake currency and two and half kg poppy straw from three persons namely Harnam Singh, Thoru Ram and Dudu Ram. Trio was arrested from RS Pura area.
RS Pura police also seized one and half kg poppy straw from one Ranjeet Singh. Nagrota police arrested one Anwar Khan and recovered about two kg charas from his possession. Jajjar Kotli police also arrested a drug smuggler namely Manish Kumar and recovered 400 gm charas from his possession. Gangyal police also held a drug peddler and recovered 300 intoxicant capsules and 600 illicit liquor Gangyal police also recovered 25 LPG cylinders 150 ltr kerosene oil from one Jaswantr Singh. Nawabad police also recovered 379 intoxicant capsules, 145 Finergo injections and 45 Nargesic capsules from one Neeraj Bhardwaz in the area.Satwari police recovered two country made pistols and four cartridges from two notorious criminals identified as Dinesh Kumar and Bua Ditta. After the arrest of HUJI chief Muzaffar Illahi Trikauta Nagar police conducted a raid in Kishtwar and recovered one PIKA gun, one Carbine and Hawala Money worth rupees 1,26,000 from one Ilam Din. Trikuta Nagar police also held a gang of chain snatchers and held three held in this connection identified as Amit Kumar,Ranjeet Singh,and Ajit Singh and recovered three gold chains, and other jewellery worth one lakh from their possession.Gandhi Nagar police also recovered 1.55 lakh property and gold from one Darshan Lal. SIT which was constituted to solve the burglary cases in the city also recovered and restored 700 kg gold besides held many thieves in this connection.
Police also recovered thirteen stolen vehicles from different areas of the Jammu and held three vehicle lifters namely Tarseem Lal,Happy and Anuj Trikha.47 bovines were also recovered recently in ten days. Three bovine smugglers were also arrested in this connection.
