4/30/2023 11:24:14 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Apr 30: Reiterating its demand in releasing of 4% D.A in favor of U.T employees and pensioners, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) President Subash Shastri today appealed the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Secretary to release the same pending installment of four percent DA due from January this year to its employees and pensioners as the same have already been released by the Central and Several State Governments and Ladakh Government to their employees and pensioners, so that confusion and uncertainty among the employees and pensioners on this vital issue could come to an end. Interacting with media persons here Shastri said that it is very unfortunate that more than a month has passed since that Union Govt. announced DA Installment to its employees and pensioners and the same were also done by the LG Administration (UT) Ladakh, but the administration of J&K has not release of DA Installment till to day. He said DA is the part of salary and routine financial matter and as such there should be no hitch in releasing it. He also demanded exemption of DA from ambit of Income Tax as it is linked with price index.
Shastri further demanded separate wage head for regularly disbursement of monthly salary of daily rated workers till their regularization, enhancement of their wages to Rs 600 per day, regularizing their services under SRO 64, setting up Labour Welfare Board, implementation of all Central laws in the UT besides granting Medical Allowance of pensioners to Rs 1000 per month at par with Central Government beside releasing 18% DA arrears to employees working in both Central/ UT Governments.
Among others present on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, BS Jamwal, Sahib Khajuria, Ram Singh, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Sarpanch Sukhdev Singh, Mohammad Sadiq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Tarsem Sharma and JP Sharma and several others.
