| Sham stresses for punctuality in hospitals | | | Early Times Report JAMMU JANUARY 13- Minister for Health, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma has said the people be provided best medicare facilities at their doorsteps and for the purpose necessary infrastructure will be made available to all health institutions in the State. Sharma was addressing the first meeting of health department here today. He said that the equipment like ECG, X-ray, Ultrasound machines and other vital equipment should be made functional benefit masses with these facilities. The meeting was, among others, attended by Commissioner Secretary Health, Mr. Atal Duloo Director Health Service Jammu, Dr. Jasbeer Singh, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Muzzafar Ahamad, Project Director AIDS control society, Dr. M.A. Wani, Director Family Welfare, Dr. Kulbhushan Pandotra, Drug controller, Ashok Gupta and Special Secretary Health, G.N. Lone. Referring to people’s expectations with government Health institutions, Mr. Sharma directed for ensuring punctuality and discipline within all the cadres of hospital management. Appealing for doing justice with their job, Mr. Sharma impressed upon officers to observe set parameters and framework and plug loop holes as soon as possible so that smooth functioning of health institutions is ensured and best possible medicare facilities are provided to the sick. Expressing concern over some complaints of drug adulteration and illegal supply of spurious medicines to government hospitals, Mr. Sharma issued strict instructions for immediate action against defaulters and also for ensuring quality medicine supply and related material to health institutions. On behalf of Health Department as a whole, Mr. Duloo assured the minister of fullest co-operation and also for strengthening his hands in making the department viable and smooth.
