Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 2: In the wake of recent Poonch terror attack in which five army personnel attained martyrdom, security agencies have claimed that the Central government is firm to bring changes through development and pro people policies, but the adversaries are trying to derail the progress in Jammu and Kashmir.
"The Central govt is firm and determined to bring changes in the region and bring them in the main stream," a senior officer in the para-milirary forces said on Tuesday.
He stated that the G-20 Summit is to be chaired at Srinagar and this is one of the significant events but somehow, the same is not acceptable to the terrorist organizations active in the region.
"Since the last decade, the developmental projects in Jammu and Kashmir are keeping pace with the time and there are multi-sectoral infrastructure development activities taking place in the region but the adversaries are trying and making all efforts to derail the process," he added.
He further said, "it is an age old practice of our adversaries to foment trouble in J&K. They can't digest the fact that Jammu region is peaceful and try to keep borders active. The recent Poonch attack is the prime example for that."
"There are numerous instances in the recent past where the adversaries tried to derail the growth. The growing narcotic and drug smuggling, recovery of huge cache of arms and ammunition and by radicalizing the youth, they are constantly looking for the opportunity to make their presence felt in region," said the officer.
Meanwhile a senior Army officer said, "the people of Jammu and Kashmir want to weed out the menace of terrorism completely from the region and see the furture generation free from drugs and weapons."
Both, Indian Army and people, he said are working hand-in-hand to bring peace, harmony and stability in the J&K, adding, "every peace loving individual must join the mission and give a befitting reply to adversaries that nothing can stop us from achieving our glorious victory and it is necessary for us to be alert and vigilant to detect the presence of terrorists and report the same to the security forces so that they can surgically remove this tumor which ails our society."
He said that it is the time to counter all the negativity prevailing around the World and create an opportunity for international branding of the Jammu and Kashmir and said, "the security forces have achieved success in foiling terrorist activities at the borders. Huge cache of war like stores and millions of worth of drugs and narcotics have been recovered."
The security forces are undertaking anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir with utmost care, safety and zero collateral damage to the local population, said the officer.
