Special camp concludes in GDC Hiranagar

JAMMU, May 2: NSS Unit of GLDM GDC Hiranagar named Cheshtha concludes 7-Day Special Camp with a valedictory function. The function was presided by Dr. Pragya Khanna, the Principal of the College. The NSS Special Camp was inaugurated on 25th of April 2023. A number of programmes and events were held during the camp in the college campus and in the adopted village Pathwal. The inaugural function witnessed awareness speeches on 'Save water Save Energy'. On the second day of the camp a survey and student lectures on 'Healthy Life Style' were held in the adopted village Pathwal. On the third day of the camp 'Essay Writing Competition' and 'Speech on Freedom Fighters and Role of Freedom Fighters' was organized. On the fourth day of the camp 'Poster Making and a Rally on the Ill Effects of Drugs and Tobacco' was held. The 6th day of the camp a programme on 'Slogan Writing on the Reduction of the use of Plastic and E-waste' and a rally displaying the same was held.
The valedictory function begun with the lightening of the lamp by the Principal and the senior Staff members. Welcome address on the occasion was presented by NSS Advisor, Prof. Rakesh Sharma followed by a detailed report presentation by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sharma, NSS Programme Officer. A number of cultural events were presented by NSS volunteers and students of the Govt. Middle Shool Pathwal. Certificates of appreciation were presented to NSS volunteers. Ankush and Komal Sharma were rewarded with the best volunteer award of the camp. Principal of the college Dr. Pragya Khanna congratulated NSS Team, NSS Volunteers and the faculty and students of Govt. Middle School Pathwal for making the Camp a success. The valedictory function ended with the formal vote of thanks presented by Prof. Kiran Thapa. The proceedings of the programme were handled by Riya, Komal and Vishali.
