| CBI presents challan against 4 accused in a false insurance claim | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 13- Following presentation of challan by the CBI/ACB against the accused in false claim of more than Rs.6.76 lakhs, the Special Judge Anticorruption, Jammu B L Bhat today directed the accused, including three surveyors and one development officer of Oriental Insurance Company, to furnish surety bonds and personal bonds to the tune of Rs.20, 000. .
According to the challan a false fire claim amounting Rs 6, 76, 350 has been preferred and obtained by the accused late PN Kastkari in conspiracy with other accused persons Subash Saraf, Imtiyaz Ahmed Bazaz and other Surveyors and BN Koul then Development Officer Oriental Insurance Company thereby causing the wrongful loss to the Insurance Company and gain for themselves. It was alleged in the challan that Subash Saraf Surveyor has received an amount of Rs 4, 26, 000 out of the total claim amount through cheques issued by Lt. PN Kastkari as such prima-facie commission of offence u/s 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 had been established and accordingly the challan was presented against the accused.
