Paharis demand inclusion of Rachpal Singh in Cabinet

Jammu, Jan 13- Pahari Peoples Movement (PPM) has said that Pahari community is ready to support any political party in the coming Lok Sabha elections who succeed in granting them Schedule Tribe status. They also demanded inclusion of Thakur Rachpal Singh- a Pahari leader in the state cabinet.
In a meeting held here under the chairmanship of Thakur Kamal Singh, senior PPM leader, it was decided by the Pahari community to support and vote that political party who will come forward and manage granting them ST status for which they are striving for the last two decades.
Thankur, on the occasion said, that though their eyes are on Omar Abdullah, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Ghulam Nabi Azad and whosoever grant them ST status will be supported in the up coming Parliament elections. "We are even ready to support BJP, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena and other parties if they come forward and support us to get ST status before election", he said adding that they have given open choice for all political outfits. "Give and take is our formula. Let us give ST status and take MP from us", he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Khan, Chief Executive of PPM said that three PDP leaders viz Muzaffer Hussain Beg, Abdul Haq and Sardar Rafiq Khan who could not be included in the state cabinet but there are other MLA's among the ruling coalition viz Thakur Rachpal Singh, Kafil-ul-Rehman, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Ajaz Jan and Abdul Gani Malik who could be inducted in the cabinet, he added.
In a resolution passed on the occasion recommended inclusion of Rachpal Singh in the council of minister who is a secular leader and has won the election with the Muslim votes. "He is the best MLA to lead Pahari movement ahead", the resolution added.
