| ABVP activists hold protest demonstration outside Custodian office | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 13- Activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) led by BJYM Jammu East Mandal President Sanjeev Gupta, today took out a rally from Link Road, which after passing through several bazars of the city, culminated outside the office of Custodian General, where a protest was held. The Morcha activists also burnt the effigy of Custodian Department. Sanjeev Gupta, while addressing the gathering outside Custodian General's Office said that the Custodian Department should be disbanded immediately as it has only added problems for the people. He said it is very unfortunate that the people living in Custodian Department's properties or using for commercial purposes have not been granted ownership rights even after 61 years of independence. Such a practice is not seen in any other part of the country. Even in neighbouring state Punjab it has been disbanded, he said and added that the government should immediately take effective steps to grant full ownership rights so that the uncertainty ends. Gupta said that the people have been raising the issue from time to time for years but the successive governments in the state never took this seriously. He said enough is enough now and the government should not test the patience of the people any more. He appealed the people to get united to get their rights. He, on this occasion, declared that the Morcha will further intensify the agitation in case no heed is paid to the genuine demand of the people. Custodian Property Tenants Association President Bbanarasi Dass, BJP District Secretary Vijay Raina, Savita, Vidya Devi, Rinku Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Vipan Sharma, Ashu Gupta, Sonu Gupta, Bunty, Sahil Chouhan, Vineet Jain, Rarinder Swahney (Bala), Naveen Dogra and Subash Gupta were prominent among those who took part in the rally.
