BJP fulfilled poll promise of strengthening democracy at grassroots level: Kavinder
5/5/2023 10:34:58 PM
Early Times Report
REASI, May 5: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fulfilled poll promise of strengthening democracy at grassroots level and re-conduct of DDC and BDC polls on time for the first time in the history of J&K is the proof of party's sincerity towards J&K.
This was stated by Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister while addressing a meeting of party workers at Reasi. The meeting was convened by Panchayati Raj Cell of BJP in which Surjeet Chowdary, Convenior Panchayati Raj Cell J&K, Gurdeep Saini and Rambesher Dutt Co-Convenors of Panchayat Raj Cell were present.
The senior BJP functionary said that in the last over 70 years, the power was in hand of limited people but under BJP regime, the power has been distributed to the lowest level as more than 30,000 elected public representatives have been empowered to directly deliver services to common man thus removing the gap between centre, state and the masses.
Kavinder said that the Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has strengthened the grassroots democracy in the UT and has given more powers to Panchayati Raj Institutions. "Under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the culture of work has changed and the dynamics of development has improved. The present government at the Centre has empowered the people in the real sense and the three tier system of PRIs has been established across Jammu and Kashmir. The PRI representatives have been empowered to such an extent that they can now take decisions independently without any interference of the Centre and State, which is proving to be a real game changer thus speeding up the development without any chance of siphoning of funds as local governance is monitored by the people at local level", he maintained.
The former deputy Chief Minister said that what BJP government has given to J&K and what is in the offing is something which no other political party in the country can even imagine as the same has been experienced by the people in the last over 70 years when dispensations of different hues and shades ruled the erstwhile state of J&K.
Kavinder also asked the party workers to celebrate nine years of Modi Government at the Centre in a big way from May 15 to June 15 under the name `Nav Saal -Bemisal'. He informed that the Party has 16 organizational districts in Jammu region and from May 15 to June 15, a mega conference will be held in every organizational district. Rumail Singh, Ashok Kumar BDC, Sham Lal BDC, Chander Mohan BDC and Panches and Sarpanches of the entire district were present in the meeting.
