DC reviews patient care scenario at District Health Society meeting

RAJOURI, May 6: A meeting of the District Health Society was today held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal. The meeting was convened to review the performance of the Health and Family Welfare Department for the financial year 2022-23. A detailed discussion on various points including the progress achieved under National Health Mission, institutional deliveries, OPDs, IPDs, RBSK, National Tuberculosis Elimination Program etc was held in the meeting. Discussing the progress achieved under the National Health Mission, the meeting was informed that 1091676 patients visited OPDs, 78812 were provided treatment in IPDs, while 7584 major and 76701 minor surgeries were performed during the financial year 2022-23. It was further informed that the district recorded 13206 institutional deliveries and 66251 X-Rays. The DC also stressed on educating the masses about the benefits of institutional deliveries over home deliveries. He directed to ensure registration of maximum number of expecting mothers under Janni Suraksha Yojana. While reviewing the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram ( RBSK), the meeting was apprised that the program aims to improve the overall quality of life of children, enable them to achieve full potential and to provide comprehensive care to all children in the community.
Taking note of the implementation of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP), the Deputy Commissioner stressed on early detection and testing of the suspected patients to meet the basic objectives of the mission. Under Non Communicable diseases, 84685 persons have been screened in the financial year 2022-23, the meeting was told.
The Deputy Commissioner also emphasized the need to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services to patients in health institutions. He directed officials to take effective measures to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and treatment.
