District Admin hosts workshop on Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra

UDHAMPUR, May 6: A day long workshop on Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras (DNK)s was today conducted by District Administration Udhampur under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya and in collaboration with the Department of Posts offices Udhampur Division.
Superintendent of Posts Offices Udhampur Division, G M Shah gave detailed a powerpoint presentation on the role of Post Offices in the functioning of DNKs aimed at augmenting the global exports.
He added that the main objective of organizing this workshop is to spread awareness among artisans, Agriculture, Horticulture Growers, Weavers and producers to harness best possible prices for their products. He informed that the documentation, custom clearance, addressing of parcels, etc required for export of products can now be done online without having physical interface between beneficiary and the Post Office.
Speaking at the workshop, the DC assured that the District Administration is committed and duty bound to provide holistic support to Artisans and MSMEs of the District. He said that the aim is to fill the gap between artisans and customers at both national and international level.
He stressed on increasing the production and productivity level of farming community to raise their socio economic status and standard of living.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghan Sham Singh; GM DIC, Pankaj Anand and other officers besides Artisans attended the workshop.
