Police seizes 10 vehicles for illegal mining

SAMBA, May 8: On the directions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh and in continuation of drive against illegal mining, Samba Police has seized ten (10) more vehicles which were being used for illegal mining in district Samba.
Police teams comprising of SHO Police Station Purmandal Vijay Verma, SHO Police Station Samba Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Police Station Vijaypur Tribhawan Khajuria, SHO Police Station Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan, SI Nanak Chand, Incharge police post Rajpura PSI Sudhir Singh, Incharge police post Gouran PSI Sajid Jaral and Incharge police post Uttar Behani PSI Vivek Singh under the supervision of Deputy SP Garu Ram Bhardwaj and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary have seized ten (10) more vehicles being used for illegal mining at different locations in Samba district.
The seized vehicles are: Tipper bearing registration No. JK02CR-7222, Tractor Trolley with registration No. JK21B-6871, Tractor Trolley with registration No. JK02U-4865, Tractor Trolley with registration No. JK21H-9200, Tractor Trolley with registration No. JK21E-7303, Tractor Trolley with registration No. JK21H -2199, Tractor Trolley with registration No. JK21E-7869, Tractor Trolley with registration No. JK21G-7870 and 02 Tractor Trolleys without registration Nos.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that total fifty six (56) vehicles have been seized in three & half months for illegal mining by Samba police after launching special drive against illegal mining. Moreover, FIR was also registered against the contractors involved in overcharging and accused were arrested. Police would continue checking the wrongdoings of mining mafia till illegal mining is completely stopped in the district.
