Sham Sharma calls for societal role for preservation, promotion of Dogri

JAMMU, May 8: Former Minister & State Vice President BJP Sham Lal Sharma today called for big societal role in preservation and promotion of Dogri language in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
The former minister was speaking at the grand prize distribution ceremony of The Voice of Duggar-singing competition at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy Auditorium.
Former Minister Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest in the function. National President of Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal, Advocate Ankur Sharma, Padam Shri Prof Shiv Nirmohi and Assistant Commissioner Finance and Revenue attended as special guests.
Sham Lal Sharma appreciated all the organizers and participants. He compared this program running for 9 months at a cost to a mother child. Just like a mother takes care of her child in her womb for 9 months and then brings a new life on this earth. Apna Dogri Channel has given many new artists to this Duggar's land after 9 months of hard penance. He said that this process should not stop. For this, he has given assurance of possible cooperation.
Referring to the popularity of Punjabi beyond regional and continental boundaries, the Senior BJP leader said this has been possible because of the overwhelming support of the people, diasporas, film and music industry. Similarly, the Dogri language has to be promoted at a larger scale with sincerity of purpose by one and all, irrespective of region, religion or caste, he added.
Organized by Apna Dogri Channel, this competition, which was first of its kind, ran continuously for 9 months comprising of 109 episodes in which a total of 144 singers participated from all the districts of Jammu province and some areas of Himachal Pradesh. 72 singers passed the audition. 36 singers advanced to the quarterfinals. 18 people reached the semi-finals. Out of which 12 people reached the Grand Finale. The Grand Finale had two rounds, the Finals and the Mega Finals. Top 6 singers competed in the Mega Finals, the result of which was announced today.
The winner was given a prize of 300000, the runner-up was given a prize of 100000 and the second runner-up was given a prize of 50000. All the remaining top 6 were given a cash prize of two thousand and top 12 thousand.
The program was presided over by Devendra Thakur, Head of Apna Dogri Channel Trust. In his vote of thanks, he thanked all the guests and announced that the Voice of Duggar Season 2 will start soon and we are committed to organize even bigger events for which he also called for everyone's cooperation.
On this occasion well-known faces of Duggar Romalo Ram, Chaman Lahiri, Asha Kesar, Vanshika Jaral, Sahil Lucky, Bodhraj Vardan, Sudhir Mahajan, Suresh Kumar, Raju Vijaypuria, Bholi Gupta, Master Ashish, Subhash Brahmanu, Desraj, JR Jackson, Deepak Kumar, Rakesh Jamwal, Achhav Singh, Sugam Baral, Roshan Barla, Mulkh Raj Bhamagi, Rohit Sethi, Vikram Sallan, Kusum Sharma Antara, Preeti Sharma, Shrestha Devi and many other dignitaries were present.
On the occasion, Kumar Raghuvanshi of Reasi was announced as winner of the competition; Nishu Jasotra of Chenani was Runner-up and Kumar Arjun of Ramnagar was 2nd Runner up.
