Congress to continue fight for restoration of statehood to J&K: Vikar

SRINAGAR, May 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief Vikar Rasool Wani on Monday welcomed many political leaders from BJP and AAP into Congress party, terming the new joining as an outcome of the pro-people policies and constructive role of the Party (Congress).
In an extraordinary function held at Srinagar Party Office under the Chairmanship of "JKPCC Chief Vikar Rasool Wani" prominent political leaders from BJP and AAP joined Congress expressing their full faith in the programmes and policies of the Party (Congress). They vowed to work for the party to the best of their ability.
JKPCC Chief Vikar Rasool Wani welcomed the leaders into Congress. Those who joined the Party included Syed Hameed Shah OBC State General Secretary AAP, Gh. Mohd Mir BJP Leader, Gh. Mohd Wani BJP, Imran Farooq Bhat Youth Leader from Srinagar.
JKPCC Chief expressed confidence that many other prominent political leaders will join Congress party in coming days.
On this occasion Wani slammed BJP Govt for robbing people of J&K of their democratic rights and the subsequent betrayals on various fronts especially when it comes to restoration of statehood and holding of elections in J&K leading to a discontent and disenchantment amongst the people.
Congress Party will continue to fight for restoration of statehood with constitutional guarantees and will make the BJP Govt accountable and answerable to people for failing and betraying them, Wani added and said despite promising to restore Statehood J&K on the floor of the house a tactical delay is being managed on this count aiming to rule J&K directly from the Centre.
JKPCC Chief reiterated Congress Party's commitment to safeguard the just rights of the people ensuring that they live with honour and dignity and will continue to work for inclusive development of J&K.
Senior Congress Leaders and workers were also present.
