HPS students brought laurels

JAMMU, May 8: Students of Humanity Public School (Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana) brought Laurels to the school by winning the final match of Under-17 (Girls) Basket Ball Match against Army Public School, Samba by 18 - 0 points at the recently concluded Inter-Zonal Basketball Tournament of Samba district. This tournament was organized by the deptt of youth services and sports (District - Samba) and was held at Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan.
The winner team of HPS Bassi Kalan Girls U-17 includes Gayatri Singh Charak (Captain), Sneha Sharma (Vice Captain), Bhumika Charak, Radhika Charak, Khushboo, Niharika Charak, Neharika Bhagat, Sadhana Tak, Rambha and Vanshika Sharma.
Three zones participated in the tournament with total number of 60 participants from all over the district. The tournament was organized under the Patronage of Director YSS Sh. Subash Chander Chibber and under the direction of Chander Kanta (District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Samba) and overall supervision of Umesh Kumar Sharma (Zonal Physical Education Officer, Purmandal).
A special assembly was organised to honour the winners. Gaurav Charak, Principal of the school lauded the efforts of the students who showed excellent performance under the able guidance of their Head Coach Mahan Singh along with other coaches Shamsher Singh, Surjeet Singh, Rajan Singh & Meenali Jamwal. He added that the school management is evidently ahead in hosting and polishing sports talent of the region. He asserted that in the phase of technological era, playing team games is a perfect way to build stamina, health and vigilance in all prospect.
Vice-Principal of the school, Anku Charak also congratulated the winning team and the organising committee, Youth and Service sports Samba being the host of such mega sports events and wished good luck to all the school officials and participating teams.
