DC flags off mega students rally on Int'l Red Cross Day

POONCH, May 9: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary, flagged off a mega Rally of Students here from Krishan Chander Park Poonch to mark International Red Cross Day.
The event was organised by the Education Department in collaboration with the Red Cross Society. The purpose of the rally was to highlight the importance of the International Red Cross Day and to create awareness about the activities and contribution of the organization towards humanity.
The rally was attended by a large number of students and teachers from various schools in the district. The students were seen holding placards with messages promoting blood donation and the services of the Red Cross Society. They also chanted slogans in support of the cause.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Poonch appreciated the efforts of the education department in organizing the rally and encouraged the students to continue their participation in such events.
Chief Education Officer Poonch, Bishamber Dass, highlighted the importance of the day. He spoke about the history and significance of International Red Cross Day and how it is celebrated all over the world.
The rally passed through different parts of Poonch town and culminated at Girls HSS Poonch.
Many teams of the students were also constituted to raise funds for the cause.
On the occasion, Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch, Malikzada Sheraz Ul Haq also highlighted the importance of Red Cross Day in Dena Nath Girls Hr. Sec. School Poonch.
Later, Principal DNRM Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School Sheesh Mahal, Poonch Anjuman Shaheen thanked all the students Escort teachers dignitaries on behalf of School and District administration Poonch.
