GDC Hiranagar organizes awareness programme

JAMMU, May 9: Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree College, Hiranagar under the guidance of worthy Principal Dr. Pragya Khanna, Department of Geography alongwith 100 students of 6thsemester under the aegis of District Civil Defence Kathua organizes a one day Awareness programme on Disaster Management. chief guest Dr. Pragya Khanna made relevant speech on the importance of these awareness programs for the students as well as for the society. The Guest of honour S. Sarbjeet Singh Deputy Controller, Disaster Management, Kathua impressed his views on various forms of disaster and discussed how to minimize it. Resource person (TOT) Arjun made awareness among the students while citing example of choking, carodioie arrest, Fire by Cylinder, Fracture etc. Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Prof. Gurdyal, Head of Geography Department. He envisaged that disaster is an event that caused damage or loss of life and the Management is the strategically plan aimed to reduce loss Dr. Sukhdeep Singh Sasan, Dr. Anil Kumar Dogra, Dr. Bhupinder Singh, Dr. Shamsher Singh, are also present in the event. Formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Kamlesh Bala of Department Geography.
