DC reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission works

REASI, May 9: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal, today reviewed the progress of water supply projects taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) to provide safe and adequate drinking water facilities to all the households in the district.
At the outset, the DC took a detailed review of the physical and financial progress of works on Babbar Brahmna and Kundar Water Supply Schemes (WSSs) being executed under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
While majority of the works have been completed under JJM, the DC reviewed the progress of balance undergoing works at few places.
The Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Reasi, Rakesh Kumar Gupta, briefed that with completion of Rs 5.56 crore project of Retrofitting and Augmentation of Water Supply Scheme (WSS) at Babbar Brahmna around 300 households will get tap water connections while around 239 households would be provided water supply connections after Retrofitting and Augmentation of Water Supply Scheme at Kundar taken up at an estimated cost of Rs.1.43 cr. The DC was apprised that pace of work on the twin projects is in full swing and more than 500 households in Babbar Brahmna and Kundar would be provided safe and adequate drinking water.
