Dead Ramnagar girl awaits justice

Voices demanding probe into the mysterious death of a Ramanagar teenage girl, who was found hanging in a hotel in Katra on April 9, 2023, are becoming shriller.
Basant Lal father of the victim has been demanding that Police should investigate the cause of death of his daughter and if she has committed a suicide it should be proven.
It has been a month when the victim was found dead but her family is claiming that till date even her postmortem report hasn’t come. They are waiting to know who their daughter died and want the investigating agencies to find out why she took such an extreme step. They want to know whether it was a murder or a suicide. It’s their right and their demand is genuine.
The mysterious death of an eighteen year old girl in a hotel where she was working has pained everyone. It’s the duty of the law enforcing agencies to bring the facts to fore. If she has committed the suicide her family members should be told the reasons and very importantly what was her cause of death.
The cause of death cannot come to fore till the postmortem report comes. Usually it takes a few days for the postmortem report to come but why it has taken a month needs to be probed.
Senior BJP leader and former legislator from Ramnagar R S Pathania had assured the victim’s family that he would stand with them and would ensure that “justice appears to be done.” He had also expressed dismay over Katra police officials misbehaving with Basant Lal, father of the victim.
Not only Pathania, the entire society needs to stand with the victim’s family and raise its voice to seek justice for the deceased. The allegations that the teenage girl could have been murdered need to be looked into. Statements of her colleagues should be recorded and the evidence be collected.
Family members of the victim need to be heard and their concerns shouldn’t be brushed aside.
They need to be provided with all the support. The victim can’t be brought back but justice should be done.
The victim’s father had made a fervent appeal to the government to hand over his daughter’s case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). His demand should be looked into.
