DC Rajouri reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes

RAJOURI, May 10: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting to review the progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district. Officers who attended the meeting were CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Hydraulics, Bhram Jyoti Sharma; EXEN Jal Shakti Rajouri, Ashwini Sharma; EXEN Jal Shakti Nowshera, Vipin Kumar and other concerned officers.
The meeting was informed that out of the 293 approved JJM schemes, work for 291 schemes have been allotted and construction of 129 schemes is already in progress. The laying of the supply pipe network has been progressing well, with 980 km of pipes already laid against the target of 13520 KMs.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized on maintaining quality of work, timely completion of projects and close supervision. He also urged stakeholders to focus on the maintenance of water supply installations.
He also called for out-come based efforts and strict adherence to timelines for completion of all projects under JJM.
The meeting was aimed at ensuring that the Jal Jeevan Mission is implemented effectively in the district so that the people in rural areas have access to safe and adequate drinking water, which is essential for their health and well-being.
