National Painting Camp by Directorate of Tourism, JKCCA culminates

JAMMU, May 10: A three days' National Paintings Camp organized by Directorate of Tourism Jammu & Kashmir in association with Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu, at Tourist Complex, Mansar Lake in District Samba of J&K (UT), culminated on 9th May, 2023. Sh. D P Abrol, Vice- President, JKCCA was the chief guest on this occasion. Ten well known artists from different states/ UTs of the country viz. Dr. Dr A K Dixit, New Delhi; Pratima Singh, Lucknow; K S Gill, Atul Mattu Dharminder Sharma and Atul Mattu, Amritsar; Jang S. Verman and O P Sharma, Jammu; Minu Dey, Kolkatta; Deepak Mehra, Bari Brahmna; and Ritika Verma, Nud (Samba) participated in the artists camp w.e.f. 7th - 9th May, 2023, in the lap of Nature surrounding Mansar Lake.
Tourists, students of various schools and colleges as well as general public visited the working artists, and interacted on various aspects of art & various mediums ans styles of art.
While speaking on this occasion, Sh. O P Sharma, Founder Director JKCCA, thanked Sh. Vivekananda Rai IRS, Director Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department, Jammy and Smt. Sunaina Sharma JKAS, Joint Director, J&K Tourism Department, Jammu for their support in organizing the three days art event at Tourist Complex, Mansar Make (Samba). He also appreciated all the participating artists for creating paintings in a scenic view of Mansar Lake area in its varied hues. He said that the purpose of organizing such events is to promote art & culture in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, and draw people from other parts of the country to enjoy the Natural beauty of the area, as well as to to share the experiences of creativity and the styles and mediums with the other artists.
It may be mentioned here that JKCCA, established in 1999, is working for the cause of preserving, promoting and activating the splendid art heritage of Jammu & Kashmir. JKCCA has so far organized hundreds of such activities within and outside the state including fourteen International Art Exhibitions, and many state and national level art exhibitions and painters camps so far.
