War of words between two ex-constituents of PAGD after Sajad Lone’s “begging bowl” remarks
5/11/2023 11:04:16 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 11: War of words started between two estranged constituents of the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Alliance (PAGD) after the chairman of the Peoples’ Conference and former minister Sajad Gani Lone passed a remark against the National Conference (NC) for “compromising” with dignity and honour of Kashmiris for power.
Although senior NC leaders preferred to maintain silence, second-rung leadership of the party launched an offensive against Sajad Lone and dubbed him an agent of the BJP. While addressing a meeting on Wednesday Lone criticized the National Conference (NC), stating that NC leaders will be the first ones to go with a begging bowl to the BJP and compromise the respect and identity of Kashmiris whenever and if ever assembly elections are held.
He reminded that the NC has allied with the BJP in the past and will do it again in the future due to their compulsions and constraints gave the serious cases against the father and son. “The current administration needs to understand that there was an era of revenge in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in the past decades. Most people labelled as OGWs in previous NC regimes were political workers of opposition parties and must not be punished for their political beliefs”, he added.
Reacting to Sajad Lone’s remark, Adv Neelofar Masood of NC said, “You were enjoying ministerial berth in PDP-BJP alliance on BJP quota and aftermath of their fall, just with two MLAs in hand. You were dreaming to be the next CM of JK with the support of the BJP. Hope that the begging bowl is still there to cherish memories coz winning will be a now-distant dream”.
Another NC leader Danish Bhat dubbed Sajad Lone an agent of the BJP.
“In Parliament and DDC elections you already disappointed the whole BJP, also making it so embarrassing for the two senior leaders of the BJP, who had given their word to the Hon’ble @HMOIndia about your performance.
Don’t take defeats to your heart because there are much bigger defeats coming your way, no matter how hard those two top BJP leaders try to pamper you”, he tweeted while sharing a picture of Sajad Lone with BJP leaders including Ram Madhav.
