JU’s Poonch Campus organises cleanliness drive at Chandak

Poonch, May 14 : In connection with the ongoing Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the Poonch Campus University of Jammu, the Hostel girls/boys boarders of the Poonch Campus Sunday organised a cleanliness drive at the Chandak and its adjoining areas here today.
The cleanliness drive which was carried out on the Direction of Director Poonch Campus Prof. Rakesh Vaid.
Dr. Rubia Bukhari Warden/Campus Officer Poonch Campus, Civil Society members, People representative Parveen Panch of Dingla, Shahzad Khan Senior Politican of the area, Hostel boarders of the Poonch Campus participated in the cleanliness drive.
Director Poonch Campus Prof. Rakesh Vaid in his message congratulated the students and faculty members of the Poonch Campus for organizing this event.
He highlighted the importance of the cleanliness and asked the students, faculty and other staff members to ensure proper hygiene at their respective places of working.
Prof. Rakesh Vaid in his message quoted different religious scriptures wherein cleanliness has been given utmost priority vis-a-vis the human behaviour and living is concerned. He further stressed on the value of cleanliness and appreciated students for taking active part in the programme.
He also highlighted in his message the role of youth in nation-building and called for more such events to keep the surroundings clean.
Both Parveen Panch of Dingla and Shazad Ahmed Khan (Senior Leader) also graced the event and appreciated the efforts of the Director Poonch Campus.
They also congratulated and hailed the efforts of Dr Rubia Bukhari and hostel boarders for organising the awareness programme on important issues.
On the closure of the activity, Dr. Rubia Bukhari ended the activity by making students pledge that it is the duty of each one of us to keep and maintain the cleanliness of our surroundings.
She also congratulated students for their participation and briefed them about other upcoming activities which Poonch Campus will conduct under the able guidance and leadership of Director Poonch Campus Prof. Rakesh Vaid at various places of Poonch district to create awareness about “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.
Thereafter, all the participants removed the waste material from the Campus hostel compound.
The boarders participated in the activity with Zeal and Zest and pledged that they will continue to participate actively in such events at Poonch Campus
