| Elected legislators yet to take oath: Khajuria | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 14- Describing the functioning of the coalition government as ‘undemocratic, State President and MLA Ashok Khajuria said despite lapse of nearly a fortnight the newly elected legislators have not been administrated the youth of office as was required under the law. Khajuria warned the government that it should not work in a manner which is against the spirit of democracy and established principles of good and transparent governance. This time government should be aware that equal numbers are sitting in the opposition and their views cannot go unheard, he maintained. ‘It is also strange that the new dispensation headed by Omar Abdullah has not decided yet to hold the budget session of the state legislature’ which was held in the month of January itself during the last year with an object to enable the government to complete the pending works in February-March, so that the funds did not lapse and corruption can be checked. The present government seems to be following the old practice allowing funds to be lapsed and bills withdrawn without execution of works. This practice has to be stopped by immediate convening the assembly session. He said the newly elected Chief Minister is ill-advised by in mature persons and in normal practice the oath should be administered to elected MLAs as early as possible without any delay. Saying that the BJP's manifesto is not a bundle of lines printed on a paper but their conviction and commitment is reflected in those and asserted that BJP fully stands by it and will see to it that disparity in all three regions is removed on top priority and the interests of Jammu people who have suffered on account of Kashmir-centric policies are safeguarded. He said that the party representatives will make sure that Jammu people get full justice and for that we will not leave any stone unturned. Khajuria appealed all the like minded forces and entities to rise above their petty political interests and work jointly to safe-guard the interests of Jammu region as well as nationalist forces.
