Soi's Photo-documentary Film 'Ladakh- an eternal splendor’ screened in SMVDU.

Katra, Jan14 'Ladakh- an eternal splendor', a photo documentary film conceived by V K Soi was screened today at Matrika Auditorium of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Universityn at Katra.
The photo documentary dedicated to the people of Ladakh in the memory of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah was witnessed by students, faculty, University Governance and other distinguished guests.
Dr. N.K. Bansal, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU was the chief guest on the occasion.
Appreciating the way the photo documentary has been conceived, Dr. Bansal said, "It's a blend of unique, marvelous photographs portraying the splendid beauty of Ladakh".
He further said, "Efforts of Soi depict his love and devotion towards the unknown beauty of this moon land, as he has put all his efforts to bring out nature's carved beauty of this unexplored area of the world".
"Such a beautiful work will definitely help in increasing the tourist influx in the state especially in Ladakh, if portrayed in right earnest", was the unanimous view of the viewers.
Soi, presently working as Comptroller in SKUAST-Jammu, in his words, said that he created this documentary after being baffled by the beauty and culture of Ladakh, where he served during 1990s.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Photo-documentary film 'Ladakh An Eternal Splendor which is a 45 minutes duration film in Urdu language is based on the collection of photographs of entire Ladakh region collected in the year 1996 when Soi was posted in Ladakh as Financial Advisor in Leh Autonomous Hill Council and was very much influenced by the scenic beauty of the region. The said Photo-documentary film was completed in the year 2007 and was first screened in Jammu on April, 21, 2008 and was inaugurated by Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Member Parliament and former Chief Minister and was highly appreciated by one and all.

It was all because of its uniqueness that this documentary film was later called for screening in National Museum, New Delhi on May 16, 2008 by the Ministry of Tourism besides in the 48th Annual Conference of National Academy of Medical Sciences held in Jammu on October 31st and November 2, 2008 in which renowned Agricultural Scientist Dr. M.S. Swaminathan and other dignitaries from all over India were also present. The documentary film is also scheduled for screening at the World Habitat Centre, New Delhi in the days to come.
