| Militants may on job to monitor military locations | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan16- Militants operating in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the border areas, have been directed by agencies across the border, to lie low and avoid entering into direct encounters with the Indian security forces for the time being. This report is based on an interception of messages received by militants from agencies across the LOC. As per the interception militants have been asked to monitor the movement of Indian troops on the border. They have been asked to give exact location of the Army new defence installations and places where additional battalions of troops have been deployed. These militants have been asked to send detailed report on the movement of troops with the help of SMS as the terrorists have been using SIM cards procured for them by the Pakistani agencies. These instructions have been given to enable the Pakistani Army to know whether the Indian side was engaged in troop buildup on the LoC in view of the growing tension between the two countries after the Mumbai strike. It is in this connection that militants have been spotted moving from one place to the other in the border areas as their job was to collect information about the deployment of troops and the nature of the war machinery the Indian side had installed near the border. Accordingly, agencies across the border have asked militants to lie low so that the security forces were not provoked to launch counter militancy operations which could sabotage the game plan of collecting information about the plans of the Indian Army.
