| THREE LeT MILITANTS GUNNED DOWN | | |
Doda, September 19: In a joint operation security forces killed three militants belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba in an encounter in Doda district on Tuesday morning.
According to defence spokesperson, three Pak nationals ,belonging to Lashkar-i-Toiba, Umar Pathan, Sadiq and Imran were killed in over two hour battle in village Batogira in Gandoh tehsil of Doda district.
The spokesman said that the three militants had carved out a hideout in a residential house in the village and on a tip off the troops cordoned off the house at 11 A.M. He said that when the militants saw’ our soliders nearing the hideout they opened fire.” The spokesman said that “our troops retaliated and the exchange of fire lasted for over two hours.”
After guns fell silent soldiers went inside the house and recovered the three bodies. Large quantities of arms and ammunition,including two assault rifles and explosives were seized from the slain militants,he added. |
