JAMMU, May 18: The Career Counseling Cell of Pt Prem Nath Dogra GDC Samba organized a highly beneficial one-day workshop on Employability Generation in collaboration with the District Employment Exchange, Samba. The event was attended by Sulakshana, Assistant Director of the Employment Exchange, a significant stakeholder of the program. Dr. Dushyant Singh, Career Counseling Officer, served as the resource person for the workshop, which saw active participation from around 50 students from the 6th and 4th semesters of the college.
During her inaugural address, Dr. Twinkle Suri, Principal of the College, shed light on the workshop's purpose. She emphasized the crucial role of employment generation programs in addressing the issue of unemployment. Dr. Suri also highlighted that such programs expand students' horizons and assist them in making informed decisions that maximize the benefits of these initiatives, providing them with a clear roadmap for their professional lives.
Dr. Dushyant Singh, the resource person, discussed various innovative schemes and programs that have been launched to combat unemployment. He emphasized the importance of these schemes, particularly considering the limited availability of government jobs. Additionally, he focused on schemes designed specifically for female students to pursue after graduation.
