Rather, Taj discuss restoration of ration scale

JAMMU, JANUARY 16 – The Minister for Finance, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather Friday chaired a meeting to discuss the modalities for restoration of 11 kg rice per soul to the rationees of the State.
The Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din and Commissioner Secretary, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), Mr. Mehboob Iqbal were also present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed in detail the issue of restoration of previous scale of ration supply to the sale depots and fair-price shops of the State and decided that a final decision in this regard would be taken shortly. The CAPD portfolio is currently with the Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah.
This issue of public importance was also highlighted by the Council of Ministers during the informal cabinet meeting held on January 9.
