EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 16: Welcoming the keenness shown by minister for tourism Rigzin Zora to develop tourism in all the three regions of J&K, President Citizens Forum Jammu and senior PDP leader, R K Chadha has suggested setting up of three separate tourism development boards for Jammu regions, Kashmir valley and Ladakh, with allocation of separate funds for promotion of tourism in all the three regions of the state, which has vast potential. Chadha has said that tourism development authorities set up in the past by the state government have not served their purpose and are proving only a burden on the state exchequer and added. All these authorities have proved as dead horses should be abolished and instead three highly empowered, with equitable allocation of funds, tourism development boards should be set up for all the three regions of the state. He also suggested constitution of a tourism consultative committee, comprising experts on tourism from within the state as well as those in different parts of the country. Alleging blatant discrimination against Jammu and Ladakh on the tourism front, he said that constitution of separate tourism development boards, with allocation of separate funds for three regions on promotion of tourism, will remove and grouse by the people, while at the same time it will lead to promotion of tourism in all the three regions.
