Central Govt Pensioners Assoc. holds 26th AGM in Jammu

Jammu, May 20: The Central Government Pensioners' Welfare Association (CGPWA) in Jammu held its 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM). The meeting was presided over by Kuldeep Khoda, the President of the Association and former DGP & CVC. The AGM was attended by a large number of members, including former Chief Secretaries of J&K, B R Kundal and B R Sharma, former Secretary to the Government of India, Ashok Angurana, former DGP Dr. Ashok Bhan, and other high-ranking former civil servants from various All India and Central Government Services.
During the AGM, a colorful Pensioners' Journal was released, which contained detailed information on pension matters and CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme). Khoda addressed the issues concerning pensioners and mentioned the efforts made by his team to address them. He highlighted the need for the construction of a CGHS Wellness Centre and the supply of timely and quality medicines.
Khoda commended the Editorial Board, headed by B K Raina, for publishing a useful Pensioners' Journal that serves as a valuable resource, especially regarding CGHS.
The General Secretary, K B Jandial, presented the Annual Report of the Association, highlighting achievements such as the allotment of land for the CGHS complex and the commitment to open a second Wellness Centre in Jammu. Jandial also mentioned the changes made in the Monday meetings to identify issues and address them effectively. The Treasurer, O P Sharma, presented the audited Statement of Income & Expenditure for the year 2022-23.
Gopal Sharma, a former DGP of J&K, expressed his happiness in participating in the AGM and meeting his former colleagues. B R Kundal shared some of his experiences and advised veterans to cherish the events of their service careers and remain happy. Dr. Ashok Bhan and Ashok Angurana also spoke during the meeting and expressed their appreciation for the Association's activities.
The Vice President of CGPWA, Dr. Sudarshan Kumar, welcomed the members to the AGM and emphasized the importance of the dates of joining and retirement in a pensioner's life. B K Raina, the Editor-in-Chief of the Pensioners' Journal, explained the history and content of the journal, highlighting the useful material on CGHS published for pensioners.
The Secretary, B. B. Magotra, presented the Vote of Thanks, and the proceedings were conducted professionally by M. A. Anjum.
