DyCM seeks Kathua PRC details

Jammu, January 16-Deputy Chief Minister Mr.Tara Chand has stressed on faster disposal of public interest cases pending in various departments adding that government would not tolerate red-tape in the administration at any level.
The Deputy Chief Minister today had a surprise visit of various offices in Kathua district including District Development Commissioners office. He inspected the Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issuing unit, reviewed its functioning and enquired about the cases pending in the unit. He also enquired about the cases being dealt under Roshni Scheme and discussed modus operandi of disposing of the cases under the scheme. Mr. Tara Chand asked for submitting him details of both PRC and the cases under Roshni Scheme. He asked the District Development Commissioner for further streamlining the unit dealing these cases and emphasized on maintenance of records meticulously.
The Deputy Chief Minister also inspected District Hospital Complex, Kathua and visited various units including emergency and X-ray units. He called for early operationalisation of new complex to facilitate the general public. Tara Chand stressed on cleanliness and hygiene in and outside the hospital complex. He also underscored the need for keeping medicines available in the drug store and its proper upkeep.
Tara Chand called for early completion of under construction tube well in the hospital premises, fixing the target middle of March, 2009 for its commissioning. The tube well would provide potable water to the hospital round the clock, besides catering the needs of about 65000 people in the periphery of the hospital.
The Deputy Chief Minister also visited District Development Commissioner office complex at Samba being constructed at a cost of Rs. 9.4 crore. He asked for early completion of the complex, so that various departmental offices are housed under one roof. He was informed that 65000 square feet District Development Commissioners office complex is expected to be completed by the end of next month.
Earlier, a deputation of Barar Mandal Punjab led by Deputy Mayor Jalandhar called on the Deputy Chief Minister and felicitated him. The deputation also presented Saroopa to Tara Chand and prayed for peace and prosperity in the state.
