JAMMU, May 20: In a significant crackdown on individuals involved in illegal mining of minor minerals, a joint team comprising the geology and mining department and the police successfully seized five vehicles used in the transportation of illegal minerals. Led by District Mineral Officer (DMO) Sunil Manhas and SHO Thathri Amit Katoch, along with other personnel, a large-scale operation was conducted under the supervision of District Magistrate Doda Vishesh Mahajan.
Acting on specific information regarding illegal mining activities, the officials established a checkpoint between Bhalla and Thathri areas. As a result, the five heavy vehicles engaged in transporting illegal minerals were apprehended, marking a significant breakthrough in combating this illicit practice. |
