DC reviews implementation of self-employment generation schemes

RAJOURI, May 20: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting to assess the progress of self-employment generation schemes aimed at providing employment opportunities for the youth.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review was conducted for cases sanctioned under various schemes, including Mumkin, Tejaswini, Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), DIC, KVIB, and other self-employment-oriented initiatives.
The officers from concerned departments provided updates on the status of beneficiaries covered under the self-employment schemes in the district.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of maximizing the coverage of unemployed youth in the district under different self-employment generation schemes. He directed the officers to work in close coordination and facilitate the enrollment of youth in these schemes.
Furthermore, he urged the officers to identify potential sectors for employment generation and devise strategies to promote entrepreneurship among the youth. Creating a supportive and enabling environment for entrepreneurship and job creation was highlighted as a crucial aspect.
The DC also emphasized the need for officers to educate the unemployed and educated youth about the various self-employment generation schemes available in the district. Motivating them to avail the benefits of these schemes was stressed upon. By fostering entrepreneurship and employment opportunities, a brighter future can be created for the youth while contributing to the overall economic development of the district.
