General health check up cum awareness camp held

DODA, May 21: The Health Department Doda, under the aegis of District Health Society Doda organized a general health check up cum awareness camp at HWC- NTPHC Gai Dessa in Medical Block Ghat District Doda.
The camp was organized by BMO Ghat/BPMU NHM on the directions of CMO Doda, Dr Ab Hamid Zargar, as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme.
The health department has taken steps to organize such mega camps at the doorsteps of people, so that all people get benefit from these camps.
During the camp, around 100 patients were examined for different ailments by the health team for lifestyle diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, while women patients were screened for reproductive health related issues besides screened for TB also where some sputum samples were collected from them, while free medicines were also distributed on the occasion among the patients.
Similarly, the students of the local government school of the area were also screened by the RBSK Team deployed for the purpose. The people were also sensitized about health and hygiene and awared of various health schemes.
DIO Doda, Dr. Versha Sharma who was also part of the health team apprised the people about prevention and treatment of Tuberculosis and spoke about the TB free India campaign launched by the Prime Minister for total elimination of TB by 2025.
Screening camps such as these are also effective in raising community awareness about symptoms, prevention and treatment of TB, she added.
The camp saw an overwhelming response from the general public of the locality as many people benefited from this free camp.
Those who were present in the camp include Dr. Versha Sharma DIO/DTO Doda, Dr. Mohd Iqbal, Dr. Amjad Iqbal, Dr. Madiha Arjumand, Mashhood Latif, Ajay Singh, Irshad Ahmed STS, Indra Devi FMPHW, Jalila Akhtar FMPHW besides staff of NTPHC Gai Dessa, PRIs and ASHAs of the area.
