Kavinder Gupta Praises Modi Govt’s Economic Transformation and G20 Impact on Economy & Tourism
5/21/2023 10:29:09 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 21: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, strongly criticized PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and others opposing the conduct of the G20 meeting in the Valley. Gupta emphasized that the international event would be instrumental in boosting tourism and bolstering the region’s economy.
He highlighted that delegates from member countries, upon their return, would act as ambassadors for Kashmir, promoting its beauty and potential to their respective nations.
In a statement issued to the media, Gupta accused the PDP leadership of resorting to venomous rhetoric against the government to revive the party’s political relevance.
He pointed out that the party has been exposed numerous times for its failure to deliver for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and its focus on personal ambitions rather than meaningful progress.
Gupta further criticized the previous Kashmir-centric parties for instigating youth to engage in destructive activities like stone pelting, which hindered the development of the Union Territory.
Commending the BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gupta highlighted that the Centre has propelled India to the status of a global economic giant. He emphasized that India has now become one of the world’s top five economies and is on track to be among the top three.
Gupta credited the Modi government for making Jammu and Kashmir a premier tourist destination, with tourism thriving akin to the golden era of the 1960s and 70s.
Gupta made these remarks during the Sampark Abhiyan in Reasi and urged party members to prepare for the month-long “Nau Saal Bemisaal” campaign, starting from May 30.
He encouraged party workers and functionaries to engage with the public during this period, conveying the party’s future plans and highlighting the achievements of their nine years in power. Gupta stressed the importance of showcasing the party’s policies and accomplishments at all levels to inspire people to join the movement of making India a stronger and more prosperous nation.
The meeting in Reasi was attended by Rohit Dubey, District President; Arvind Gupta Parbhat; Pardeep Singh; Ajay Nanda, former MOS; Baldev Sharma, former MLA; Shashi Gupta, Chairman of Katra; Shashi Puri, Chairman of Reasi Municipality; all DDC members; all Mandal Presidents; Morcha presidents; the district team; and other senior leaders
