| PNB opens its 34th ATM at Residency Road | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 16- With its imitative to reach out to the vast section of the people of state of Jammu & Kashmir, India's leading nationalized bank, Punjab National Bank opened its 34th ATM in the state at Residency Road in summer capital today. The ATM was inaugurated by R C Kaul, Deputy General Manager, Punjab National Bank, J&K Circle. Speaking at the function, Kaul said that the main objective of the bank is to reach out to the door steps of the people and to provide them a hassle free service. He said that this ATM will provide an alternative delivery channel for 24x7 hour banking as customers of PNB and other banks can use this ATM which is tied to National Switch. He informed that this particular ATM is the first of its kind in the valley which dispenses Rs. 1000 notes. Kaul said that the Bank proposes to add 10 more ATMs in the state during 2009-10 adding that entire bank in the country stands networked to CBS platform and Bank also proposes to open five more branches in the state during 2009-10. He said that expansion of Agriculture Credit, Trade Credit, Housing Credit, Education Loans and credit for development of Kashmiri Handicrafts shall be the focus area of the Bank in the valley during 2009-10. Mohammed Latif Mir, Assistant General Manager, Area Office, Srinagar informed that the Bank has carved out a special team for expansion of Credit under KRISHI CARD scheme in Kashmir valley and to begin with, the team is currently moving in all branches of Anantnag district.
