Kavinder criticizes Congress, others for Boycotting inauguration of new Parliament Building
5/25/2023 9:41:03 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 25: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister, strongly condemned the Congress and other political parties for boycotting the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building. He accused these parties of indulging in baseless controversies and stooping to new lows.
Gupta’s statement comes in response to the announcement made by several opposition parties, including Congress, TMC, Samajwadi Party, and AAP, declaring their boycott of the inauguration ceremony on May 28, to be conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He expressed disappointment over their decision, stating that May 28 will be remembered as a glorious day in India’s history.
Instead of participating and adding grace to the event, these political outfits are attempting to disrupt and spoil the occasion, which he finds appalling and unnecessary.
Gupta also criticized the Congress and its allies for consistently undermining India’s democracy.
In addition, Gupta called upon the opposition parties to clarify their stance on the upcoming opening ceremony of the Ram Mandir (Ram Temple), highlighting the need for them to publicly state whether they will attend or remain stubborn, similar to their approach towards the central vista project.
He accused the Congress of having a long-standing history of taking anti-national positions, citing their opposition to the Ram Setu issue. He also questioned Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s inauguration of the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha (State Assembly) building, wondering under what authority she did so.
Gupta emphasized that it is customary for Prime Ministers to inaugurate such prestigious projects, rendering the controversy baseless.
He believes that the Congress party is attempting to mislead the public as it realizes its diminishing prospects in the 2024 elections and is resorting to creating chaos on various pretexts.
