Early Times Report

Udhampur, May 25: Terming the “vicious propaganda” against Station House Officer, Udhampur Raghubir Singh Chaudhary as baseless and devoid of facts, president of Beopar Mandal Udhampur, Jitendra Parmani, on Thursday said that it’s after a long time the area has got a police officer who always remains available for people. Addressing a news conference here Parmani said, “SHO Raghubir Singh is doing a commendable job. Since the day he has assumed the charge, he has tightened noose around the drug peddlers, bovine smugglers and goons. He resolved a big issue of Salathia Chowk in Udhampur.” The Beopar Mandal president said, “People of Chenani, Ramnagar and Chunta are staging protests and press conferences are being organized against the police officer. I want to ask them if they know who SHO Raghubir Singh is and what he is doing for the people of Udhampur?” He said, “It’s unfortunate whenever any sincere, honest and dedicated officer is posted in Udhampur he falls prey to petty politics.” Recalling a fire incident on the night of Diwali, Parmani said, “I called SHO Raghubir Singh at 2 am in the night and informed him that a shop in Udhampur market had caught fire. He reached the spot within minutes. The SHO sahib had arrived before I could reach. Whenever anyone calls him, he always remains available.” He said, “90% people of Udhampur people are happy with SHO Raghubir Singh. For many areas people couldn’t park their vehicles at Devika Ghat. The SHO Raghubir Singh has ensured that the parking space is created for devotees.” Referring to a photo which has gone viral on the social media, Parmani said, “When I won the Beopar Mandal election hundreds of people came to meet me. They took pictures with me. How did I know if any of them are smugglers or drug peddlers?” “Similarly when Raghubir Singh took charge as SHO Udhampur many people came to meet him and clicked pictures with him. It is unfortunate that a picture of a criminal standing next to the police officer has been posted on social media. No one has the right to malign anyone’s image by resorting to such tactics,” Parmani said. He said, “People of Udhampur are happy with SHO Raghubir Singh’s work. Please allow him to work. He is working for the welfare of the people.”
