KVK, Reasi Conducts 15-Day Certificate Course on INM

Reasi, May 25: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi, under the guidance of Director Extension, Prof. SK Gupta of SKUAST-J, is organizing a 15-day certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) at the KVK, Reasi campus. The course is specifically designed for input dealers from Reasi and Udhampur districts.
During the program, various technical sessions have been arranged to provide valuable insights. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Head of KVK, Reasi, delivered a lecture on the importance and utilization of macro and micro-nutrients, emphasizing the need for entrepreneurship development in vermicomposting. The participants were also guided on the proper balance of manures and fertilizers, and the use of nano fertilizers.
Dr. Lobzang Stanzen, a scientist at KVK, Reasi, discussed the timing and dosage of nutrients required for different crops. He shed light on agro-advisories and the use of biofertilizers and biopesticides, highlighting their benefits and proper formulation. The session emphasized the positive impact of eco-friendly technologies on the environment and human well-being.
Dr. Arvinder Kumar focused on nutrient management in various crops, emphasizing the significance of balanced doses of manures and fertilizers to maximize returns. A video presentation on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) was also conducted for the participants.
Additionally, a special session was held for farmer-scientist interaction, where farmers raised queries that were satisfactorily addressed by the experts. The program was successfully coordinated by Manohar Lal and concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Lobzang Stanzen.
