| 4 of a family die after tree falls on temporary shelter | | |

Kishtwar, May 25: In a tragic incident, four members of a family including three women from Gujjar and Bakerwal community died in Keshwan area of Kishtwar District after a tree fell on their temporary shelter (tent) installed by them for night halt in Balna area of Keshwan some 45 KM from Kishtwar. As per the details available with Early Times, Kishtwar District has witnessed heavy rainfall in last 48 hours as a result of which several trees were uprooted with few places witnessed lighting incidents as well. After the sad news of death of four persons, the police officials from nearby police post along with the locals immediately rush to the spot to access the demage and loss to the life.
Due to peculiar circumstances, the police and locals used wood cutter to cut the huge trunks of tree so as to recovered the dead bodies of the deceased buried under the tree trunks.
The deceased were identified as family of Nazir Ahmed bakerwal of Ghati Barwal Kathua including his wife and two young daughters. Following the incident, District administration Kishtwar under District Red Cross fund has announced immediate financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakhs to carry out burial and other rituals of the deceased.
After conducting autopsy and completion of all legal formalities, all the deceased were buried nearby accidental site. |
