Early Times Report SAMBA, May 26: Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, the police have successfully solved a sensational case involving the attempted kidnapping of a minor girl student in Samba. The main accused, identified as Ashwani Singh alias Luddan, son of Harnam Singh and a resident of Beheri, Samba, has been arrested in connection with the case. The police have registered a case (FIR No. 129/2023) under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act at the Samba Police Station. The interrogation of the accused is currently underway. The incident occurred on Thursday when the accused, Ashwani Singh, who is the son of a BSF personnel posted in another state, intercepted a 17-year-old girl student near Hospital Road, close to NHW Samba. He hit her with the bike he was riding, snatched her mobile phone, and physically assaulted her before forcibly dragging her into a Hyundai i20 car with the help of an accomplice. However, the prompt response of the Samba Police, aided by eyewitnesses and civilians, led to the timely rescue of the minor student girl within 2-3 minutes after the incident. The police registered an FIR, seized the bike used in the crime, and immediately initiated investigations. Multiple police teams were deployed to different areas, and continuous raids were conducted throughout the night at suspected hideouts. Today, the police successfully apprehended the main accused, who is currently undergoing sustained interrogation. The arrest was made by a police team led by SHO Police Station Samba, Rajeshwar Singh, and PSI Davinder Singh, under the supervision of Addl. SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.
