DC approves 58 sponsorship cases, ensures child protection

RAJOURI, May 27: In a significant meeting with departmental officers, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, called for proactive measures to enhance child protection services in the district. The focus was on reviewing and approving sponsorship cases for children in dire need of care and protection. A total of 58 cases were presented to the Child Welfare Committee, highlighting the urgency to provide timely support to vulnerable children. The Deputy Commissioner and his dedicated team are committed to ensuring the well-being of these children by promptly sanctioning the cases. Emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive approach, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for immediate intervention, long-term support, and rehabilitation to create a secure and nurturing environment for the children. He expressed gratitude to the officers for their dedication and urged all stakeholders to actively participate in safeguarding the rights and interests of children. Addressing the issue of child marriage, the Deputy Commissioner advised collaboration between the Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board, religious institutions, and women's panchayati Raj institutions. The aim was to raise awareness about the harmful consequences of child marriage and discourage such practices.
