DLSA organizes interactive training for PLVs

SAMBA, May 27: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in Samba organized a one-day interactive training session for Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) at the District Court Complex. The session, directed by Mr. Yesh Paul Kotwal, Chairman of DLSA Samba, aimed to provide PLVs with an understanding of their role and the code of ethics they must follow.
Chaired by the Chairman of DLSA Samba, the training session focused on empowering PLVs to educate marginalized individuals about their constitutional and statutory rights. In addition to legal aid services, the session highlighted how PLVs can offer assistance and support to those in need, including providing initial advice, aiding in drafting documents and representations, and helping with the completion of forms for various government and social security schemes.
The session also emphasized the specific functions and duties of PLVs at both the front office and different legal aid clinics, as outlined in the "The National Legal Services Authority (Free and Competent Legal Services) Regulations, 2010" and "The National Legal Services Authority (Legal Aid Clinics) Regulations, 2011." The training was attended by all PLVs associated with the District Legal Services Authority Samba
