IRCS conducts First-aid training programme

JAMMU, May 27: Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Jammu Region, organized a comprehensive four-day First-Aid Training Program at Red Cross Bhawan in Kachi Chawni, Jammu. The program aimed to equip participants with essential skills to handle emergency situations and minimize injuries in untoward incidents.
Recognizing the importance of preparedness for unexpected emergencies, the training program targeted employees from Serveshwar Foods Pvt. Ltd., Berger Paints Pvt. Ltd., and Red Cross volunteers. The sessions, conducted from 24th to 27th May 2023, covered various vital aspects of first aid under the guidance of medical professionals.
Dr. Kavita Nijohn Verma and Aasia Noor, Medical Officers from IRCS, provided practical learning sessions on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques, methods to handle fractures, patient rescue, transportation procedures, and the utilization of local resources during disasters. Kanchan Devi, Supervisor Pharmacist, elaborated on wound care, basic first aid equipment, poisoning management, snake bites, and sting situations.
The training program offered both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice, empowering participants to effectively respond to emergency situations. The sessions were supported by Ravi Kant Magotra, Supervisor Pharmacist, and Mustaq Ahmed, Supervisor Lab Technician. The examination was conducted by Joginder Kumar, Pharmacist, along with Vironica Marwah, Field Officer of IRCS Jammu Region.
The program was held under the supervision and guidance of Sat Pal Sharma, Honorary Secretary of IRCS Jammu Region. The Indian Red Cross Society continues its efforts to create awareness and equip people of all ages with essential first aid skills, aiming to minimize injuries and disabilities resulting from unfortunate incidents.
